| The serial port autoscan should quickly detect and setup most serial port configurations for you provided NMEA data is available on the serial ports (GPS, AIS etc)
If no serial ports are detected
Check that your  USB to serial converter is connected.Try plugging into a different USB socket.

Check that you have installed the driver for the USB to serial port.If connected to the Internet, Windows should detect and do this when the device is plugged in. Or use the supplied driver that came with the device.

Check in the  Device manager under Port and LPT for the status of the driver.

Check that no other program is using the serial port, this will prevent seaPro from using the port. If serial ports are detected but no GPS, AIS etc.
Is your GPS is connected to the correct serial port? Is the cabling correct? Is  your GPS is set for  a NMEA 083 output etc. Important:If  you have upgraded your operating system, then any older device drivers may no longer work - use the Windows update or refresh using the Device manager.
Under Windows 8 some older USB GPS units will no longer install due to Microsoft not having driver support for them. Windows 8  devices can be purchased here
